Zaha Hadid’s One Thousand Museum Tops Off in Time for Star Role in PBS Documentary

 
Starchitect Zaha Hadid’s iconic Miami skyscraper has officially topped off at 709 feet, and perfect timing, as PBS will showcase the innovative tower on a construction documentary ‘Impossible Builds‘ on Wednesday, February 7th at 10 p.m., which will feature the most complex, technologically-advanced construction projects on the planet!  Check out the trailer of Impossible Builds below with a starring role by One Thousand Museum!



Developers, contractors and workers celebrated the topping off of the Downtown Miami luxe tower on Friday by flying an American flag on top of the structure. Construction on the 83-unit tower began in December of 2014, giving the Magic City many ‘firsts,’ as the tower started with a historic concrete pour in late summer of 2015 and went through the installation of the country’s 1st-ever building exoskeleton shipped from Dubai.

One Thousand Museum is estimated for completion by the end of December of this year (2018).

New renderings of 300 Biscayne show off its sleek design that looks like a building you would see in NYC, which is exactly what the Downtown Miami skyline needs! Although it has not been officially released how many units will be included in the new project, the developer, PMG has stated that the new luxury tower will include a 5-star hotel brand and residences and the 2nd wellness-focused spa of its kind.

The initial approved design plan for 300 Biscayne seems to be much different than what is now planned for the soon-to-be tallest tower south of New York. The initial design, which was approved back in 2015, included 2 simple, rounded towers, connected by multiple walkways and consisted of 500 luxury condo units. But, this new glass, staggered-box design consists of only one tower that looks much more chic and sophisticated than the original design.

Dubbed “The Sterling,” a sleek, tulip-inspired 73-story mixed use project has recently been proposed by Turkish developer, Okan Group, for 555 N. Miami Avenue in Downtown Miami, just west of the American Airlines Arena and south of the highly-anticipated Miami World Center.

Designed by Behar Font, the proposed mixed-use project is planned to include 362 residential units, 300 hotel rooms, 55,400 square feet of office space, 3,030 square feet of retail space and 9,820 square feet of restaurant space.

Miami’s Urban Development Review Board is scheduled to review the plans for The Sterling on October 6th, according to The Next Miami.


Elysee Secures $16.5 M Construction Loan

Elysee, a 57-story luxury pre-construction condo tower planned to rise along Biscayne Bay at 700 NE 23rd Street in the Edgewater neighborhood of Greater Downtown Miami, has secured a $16.5 Million construction loan from Mosaic Real Estate Credit, according to Curbed.

Securing this construction loan allows the developers of Elysee, Two Roads Development, to move along with the initial phase of construction for the waterfront development. Installing pilings, excavation work and pouring the foundation will start soon, so that Elysee can be on its ways for a slated completion of 2019.

Marina Blue in Downtown Miami is Renovating its Valet Area…Finally!

 
Marina Blue, the 57-story luxury condo building in the epicenter of Downtown Miami, is finally fixing the valet parking situation, which has been a complaint of owners, tenants and visitors over the years.

As the rendering above shows, the space directly in front of the building, which has been used as pedestrian space since the building opened in 2008, will now be turned into a so-called ’round-about,’ allotting plenty of room for drivers to pull into valet without getting stuck in the middle of 9th Street. But, the good news is that there will still be plenty of pedestrian-friendly space in front of the building. This is definitely a significant improvement for the building and the area!

The construction is expected to begin in approximately one month, according to the Marina Blue Condominium Association, with an estimated completion of 80 days from the start date. So, if they stick to this timeline, valet parking at Marina Blue should be much relieved by the time the 2017-2018 Miami Heat Basketball schedule heats up!

Good News for Owners…no special assessments will be levied as the Marina Blue general reserve fund is quite healthy and has the funds available for the valet renovation. 

Marina Blue, which was completed in 2008, has long awaited an improvement for the valet line. Marina Blue is located in one of the most sought-after locations in the heart of Downtown Miami across from American Airlines Arena, which is home to the Miami Heat, across from Museum Park, Perez Art Museum, Frost Museum of Science and steps from the highly-anticipated Miami Worldcenter.
