The Perigon Miami Beach Reveals Private Michelin-Starred Restaurant And Speakeasy

As demolition begins in the building that currently stands where The Perigon Miami Beach will soon rise, details about an opulent new amenity in the boutique development are being revealed. The Perigon will be the first building in Miami to offer a private residents’-only restaurant with a Michelin-starred chef.

According to an official unveiling that was delivered to our doorstep, Starwood Capital and Mast Capital are partnering with famed Michelin-starred chef Shaun Hergatt to open a private eatery and speakeasy inside of the exclusive waterfront development. The announcement included a sample of Caspy Caviar, a convenient way to find sustainably-sourced top quality caviars and have them delivered to your doorstep. Caspy Caviar is also one of Hergatt’s brands, so is something we will expect to see at Nota, the name given to the new restaurant.

“The Perigon is proud to announce Michelin-starred chef Shaun Hergatt joining the team of world-class visionaries. The celebrated executive chef and owner behind some of New York’s most famed Michelin-starred restaurants will be the curator of culinary delights and beverages for the property, specifically the newly revealed restaurant and speakeasy.

As a taste of what is to come, please enjoy Chef Shaun Hergatt’s private label caviar. Sincerely, Camilo Miguel Jr.” read the handwritten note accompanying the gift announcement.

Nota will take advantage of the oceanfront location with plenty of locally-sourced ingredients centering around a clean, crisp Mediterranean-inspired palette anchored by rich seafood. Chef Hergatt plans to utilize woodfire grilling techiques in order to create approachable yet refined dishes that play to the understated elegance of the development.

In addition to Nota, a private speakeasy dubbed FiftyThree will offer an intimate mood with a playful aesthetic. Also focusing on locally-sourced fresh ingredients, FiftyThree experiments with bold colors and patterns highlighted by bronze fixtures and accents and a whiskey-themed palate. With the name paying homage to the development’s location at 5333 Collins Avenue, FiftyThree will be the perfect place for a stylish waiting area to sip a cocktail before a night out, or a sophisticated nightcap after dinner.

If you venture toward 53rd and Collins on Miami Beach today, you will find the 15-story La Costa condominium in the early stages of demolition. According to The Next Miami, rather than using an implosion, developers are demolishing the interior of the existing building first and a conventional demolition of the structure will follow. The finished product will be a 18-story ultra-luxury development designed by Rem Koolhaus and outfitted by Tara Bernerd Partners.

“We are designing more than a condominium at The Perigon, it is a private, highly serviced five-star resort exclusively for the owners. Additionally, our partnership with such a notable chef as Shaun Hergatt further solidifies the commitment to the quality of luxury The Perigon will offer to its residents,” said Camilo Miguel Jr, Mast Capital’s CEO.

Residences at The Perigon range from 2,100 square feet to 6,700 square feet and are priced from $4 million. A collection of guest suites are also available for those who have frequent guests or live-in help.

The Perigon Miami Beach Amenities Invite You To Revel In Sophisticated Tranquility

Yesterday we highlighted the luxurious and quirky-yet-convenient neighborhood of Coconut Grove, which is currently experiencing a triumphant renaissance, so today we will continue the theme and focus on another area of Miami in the midst of a renaissance of its own.  Miami Beach’s Millionaire’s Row is in for some big changes as a result of the aging Rat Pack-era waterfront condominium towers paired with an influx of new residents from around the globe after unfavorable tax conditions in the Northeast United States as well as unfavorable political climates in other countries.

The Perigon Miami Beach, which will rise above the dunes at 5333 Collins Avenue has taken a 360º approach to reintroducing luxurious serenity to the area with sumptuous and flowing amenities for the exclusive use of the project’s 73 residents. Perigon does mean 360º after all, so why not let the tranquil energy flow all the way through the meticulously thought-out development?

Tara Bernerd, the famed interior designer based out of London has detailed the thought process behind the interiors and offerings of the Rem Koolhaas-designed beachfront tower.

“We envisioned the residents at The Perigon to be well traveled, design-savvy, and highly cultured,” said Bernerd to DesignBoom.com. “We have created interiors that speak to the architecture of the building, with a conversation between interior and exterior design, that would appeal to this individual and their penchant for an international design sophistication. The amenity collection epitomizes this ethos, with finishes and furnishings chosen to evoke a refined relaxation, so that it truly is a destination in and of itself.”

It all begins with the arrival. The amenities are seen as an extension of the home, offering a luxurious and meandering vibe that imposes tranquility and wellness by incorporating even the sea breeze. After being greeted by the high-security guardhouse, then the 24/7 doorman, residents and guests are invited into the main lobby.

Bernerd & Partners left no stone unturned when laying out the look and feel of these shared spaces (most literally, there are many different types of stone incorporated). Guests receive their first glimpse and feel of the serene ambiance that flows through the development here, with cool natural tones and a tranquil flow of natural light. A mixture of many layered textures gives the lobby and its sister spaces a sense of depth in the muted tones.

The breakfast room and sunrise lounge look over the pool area and cabanas, over to the Atlantic Ocean, offering an inspiring start to the day with fresh-made breakfasts and coffees. The spaces are designed using highly varnished blonde wood that is carefully laid with a sense of movement yet offering a muted finish. The tones are cool and inviting, without being cold or loud. Touches of blue incorporate the sky and ocean to the spaces.

In the evening, residents and guests can enjoy a glass of wine in the sunset lounge, or a dinner either al fresco or in the private on-site restaurant… all designed with a complimentary theme to the sunrise lounge. An onsite speakeasy is the perfect spot for an aperitif or night cap, or an after-dinner espresso. For those who prefer to actually be outdoors versus feeling as though they are outdoors, a private beach club is to be built atop the dune protecting the beach. The poolside cabanas are the perfect setting for an intimate romantic dinner.

All of these outdoor amenities are connected by a lushly landscaped meditation garden with water features and native fauna that is also incorporated into the Wellness Center.

Gone are the days when the wellness center was buried in the basement of a development. The wellness centers of today are not only incorporated into the overall experience of the building, they are a focal point. At The Perigon Miami Beach, the professional gym equipment is situated with sweeping water and garden views, bringing a revitalizing dose of Vitamin D along with the workout and inspirational views. Personal trainers are available through the concierge, as are any number of spa treatments to pamper yourself.

As Ms. Bernard herself claimed, “The amenities are not standalone attractions. They have continuity. While each amenity is different from the next, they all speak the same language.”

We are certainly ready to see this work of art come into fruition. It is anticipated to be completed in 2025. The 73 residences range in size from two- to four-bedrooms and are priced from $4 million. For those residents who have frequent guests or live-in help, the development will offer 9 luxury guest suites with the same services as the main residences.

The Perigon Miami Beach Unveils Interiors and Finishes by Tara Bernerd & Partners

The Perigon, which stands to rise at 53rd and Collins Avenue in Miami Beach, has released the finishes and interiors chosen by the world-renowned designer Tara Bernerd. This is the only pre-construction ultra-luxury project currently offered on the beachfront in Miami Beach, which promises to be the pinnacle of luxury and sophistication with just 84 residences over 17 floors and a vast array of amenities, which we announced this spring.

For those who are unfamiliar, Tara Bernered is a London-based designer who is internationally renowned for her work in luxury hotels such as the Four Seasons and Rosewood Hotels as well as private residences and yachts. Before branching out on her own in 2002, she was a fixture with Phillippe Starck’s Yoo brand. For The Perigon, she has been inspired by the tranquil location with both ocean and intracoastal views. The organic vibe of the project emulates a five-star resort on the French riviera.

Inside the Residences

Buyers will be able to choose from different color palettes, each with finishes that draw from the surrounding coastal environment with natural light, and private outdoor spaces with elegantly-appointed interiors. The finishes include a mix of stone, glass and wood to create dimension and texture, with organic fabrics and tailored weaves to bring out the feeling of the French riviera. The Italian cabinetry is custom-designed by Tara with a choice of French White Oak or Canaletto Walnut.

The appliances feature custom SubZero refrigeration and wine coolers with integrated panels and Cove dishwashers, also with integrated panels. The 5-burner gas cooktop, oven, convection oven and steam oven are all Wolf.

“Combining Tara’s extraordinary talent with the genius of OMA’s architecture and Gustafson Porter+Bowman’s landscaping has differentiated The Perigon in the market,” said Camilo Miguel, Jr., CEO of Mast Capital. “The Perigon captures attention to detail in a way that is unmatched for the area, and there is no better representation of that than in the rich amenity spaces. Through her timeless aesthetic and European sensibility Tara has created a true sanctuary in Miami Beach.”

One of the most endearingly controversial and highly-acclaimed architects in the world is bringing a new level of sophistication to Millionaire’s Row in Miami Beach.
