Uber, Twitter & Silversea Cruises Sign Brickell Leases

The transformation of Greater Downtown Miami just keeps getting better. With the signing of leases now by Uber, Twitter and Silversea Cruises in Brickell, thousands of additional jobs are coming to the area, which will in turn continue to help solidify the transforming downtown area into a true urban core—live, work and play environment.

Businesses are flocking to Greater Downtown Miami and with all of the amazing changes on the horizon, it is no wonder that Uber and Twitter, two of the most popular tech companies in the world, are coming right here to South Florida.

Uber will occupy 9,333 square feet of office space at Brickell City Tower, across from the highly-anticipated Brickell City Centre, Twitter already opened a headquarters at Espirito Santo Plaza on Brickell Avenue and Silversea Cruises is planning to move their headquarters to Met 2 in the center of Downtown Miami.

Welcome to Miami!

Extraordinary Transformation of Downtown Miami

Major Transformation of the Greater Downtown Miami Area

Five or six years ago, the greater Downtown Miami area shut down around 6 p.m. Thousands of people would flock to Downtown Miami and Brickell during the week to work and then the mass exodus at the end of the day would leave the neighborhood deserted on nights and weekends. That has completely changed. Starting with Mary Brickell Village offering an eclectic variety of dining, shopping and entertainment, the greater downtown area has been on the verge of great changes since. With the major growth in the arts scene and culture including the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) and Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science, along with all of the new construction mega-projects including Brickell City Centre, Miami Worldcenter and SkyRise Miami and the transit systems such as All Aboard Florida, Downtown Miami is in the midst of some remarkably-awesome changes!

Instead of coming to work in Downtown Miami and/or Brickell and then peacing out immediately, people are now wanting to live, work and play in the greater downtown area. With condo projects being associated with some of these billion dollar mega-projects such as Rise and Reach condo towers at Brickell City Centre and the signature condo tower, Paramount Miami Worldcenter atop the Mall at Miami Worldcenter, people are really becoming attracted to living and playing in Downtown Miami and Brickell.

Downtown Miami has so much to offer and things just keep getting better. Now, developers and owners of restaurants, retail stores and venture start-up companies are flocking to the downtown area, and this change is only going to bring more positive vibes to the area. Although for years, Miami was internationally and nationally recognized only for its beaches and basically South Beach (even though Miami has no beaches and South Beach is in Miami Beach where the beaches are, most people confuse all as the same), now that’s not the case. Yeah the beaches are amazing, but Miami has a lot more to offer than just fun in the sun and tropical weather, a lot more.

Check out a great video by the Miami Downtown Development Authority showing the amazing and continuous transformation of greater Downtown Miami.

American Social Gastropub Coming to Neo Vertika Condo Building

American Social Gastropub

American Social Gastropub

The Neo Vertika condo building, located in Brickell on the Miami River, will soon be home to American Social gastropub, according to Miami New Times.  American Social is a popular gastropub on Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale and is popular for its many craft beers and beer-tap tables.  Owners of American Social decided to expand its brand to Brickell and what better place than on the ground level of Neo Vertika.  American Social will replace what used to be Waxy O’Connor’s Irish Pub on the ground floor of Neo Vertika which is a spacious, 6,500 square foot interior space complimented by 3,000 square feet of canopied, waterfront space on the Miami River.  American Social will also include a 200 square foot boat dock.

Co-owners of American Social, Paul Greenberg and Rick Mijares, obviously realize the growth potential of Brickell.  With all of the positive transformations in Brickell and Downtown Miami currently in motion, Brickell will soon be the hottest metropolis in South Florida…Smart move!

American Social will open at Neo Vertika shortly after Labor Day weekend.

Miami…A Sophisticated, Chic Metropolis

Miami Skyline

Miami is one of the most beautiful, diverse, vibrant cities in the world with the most gorgeous beaches and unparalleled tropical weather. As Miami’s multicultural population continues to grow and the tourism continues to break records, Miami is transforming from a purely beach destination into an increasingly sophisticated, chic metropolis.  The combination of natural geographic beauty and the increasing economic strength and geographic convenience is the foundation of Miami’s realization in its place on the world stage.

RESIDENTIAL CONDO TOWER BOOM

Most people are shocked by the amount of residential condo towers being built in Miami-Dade County, with a high concentration in the Downtown Miami and Brickell area.  To date, approximately 173 new condo towers consisting of approximately 27,656 condo units are projected to be built in Miami-Dade County, with over 61 condo towers just in the Downtown Miami area.  But, face it, with all of the influx of people wanting to invest or have 2nd, 3rd or 4th homes in Miami, the demand for these Miami condos is there.

Wynwood Walls

MIAMI ARTS DISTRICT

The growth and beatification of the Miami Arts District is unreal. From the conveniently located shops and restaurants at Midtown Miami to the fabulous, ultra-chic Wynwood restaurants, art galleries and open-air street art, the Miami Arts District is being modernized daily.

Museum Park

Museum Park

MUSEUM PARK

Museum Park, was opened to the public on June 14, 2014 in the heart of Downtown Miami beside the American Airlines Arena and consists of 19 acres of beautifully landscaped green space, the Perez Art Museum Miami, Frost Museum of Science, a public plaza, a stunning baywalk and a sandy “beach” near the water’s edge.  Surrounded by towering, shaded oak trees, Museum Park is a beautiful place to relax or take a walk with expansive, breathtaking views of Biscayne Bay.

Port of Miami Tunnel

Port of Miami Tunnel

Port of Miami Tunnel

Port of Miami Tunnel opened on August 4, 2014 and is a complete blessing to Miami.  The Port of Miami Tunnel provides cargo trucks direct access between the major highways, I-395 and I-95, and the seaport, discontinuing the use of the Downtown Miami streets, providing safer streets in Downtown Miami and the surrounding areas along with less street congestion.  The Port of Miami Tunnel is certain to improve the traffic flow in Downtown Miami and all surrounding areas.

GREENLINK PROJECT

GreenLink Project, later to be renamed, will completely transform the land beneath the Metrorail from the Brickell Metrorail Station all the way to Dadeland South Station into a continuous, 10-mile pathway used for walking, biking and exercise and a linear park.  This 10-mile linear park would be the largest ever linear park!
