Not every city in the world has the privilege of having its own global design inspiration, yet Miami Chic trends across all continents. With its bright, natural light and cool tones with pops of color, people find our style to be warm, artsy, and luxurious, just touching on that air of the unattainable.

With the influx of new residents in the Magic City, we have seen an uptick in the need for skilled interior designers who embody our signature style and add their own touch of flare. Here are the top Miami-based interior designers that were chosen by the holy book of all things architectural/interior, Architectural Digest.

 

Antrobus Design Collective

Led by founding principal Alison Antrobus, Antrobus Design Collective is no stranger to being included in “Best of” lists. Her work has also landed her on lists from Conde Nasté Traveler, Inside Out, The Miami Herald, and International Property and Travel.

Ms Antrobus specializes in luxury residential and boutique hospitality projects, with a portfolio that includes Zaha Hadid’s One Thousand Museum as well as Fisher Island among others.

B+G Design

Founded by Brett and Giselle Sugerman, this Miami interior design firm is notable for its flawless combination of functional minimalism with contemporary appeal. They also bring emotions and a sense of wellness to their projects, offering a 360-degree approach to design and completing with a home that tells a story while also contributing to the story of the family that inhabits the space.

You can find some of their notable work at Ten Museum Park in Downtown Miami (pictured above), as well as in Porsche Design Tower in Sunny Isles and the St. Regis Bal Harbour. The team also designs single family homes.

Bea Interiors Design

Forming Bea Interiors in 2012, Bea Pernia has been a force of nature from the start. She is known for creating spaces that stimulate the eye, stir the soul and create lasting comfort well into the future. Her services go full-range and include conceptual design, custom furniture and finishes with project coordination, art curation and lighting/furniture design. She is consistently praised for her precision, flexibility, attention to detail and genuine passion.

Around town, you will find her design touch in homes on Miami Beach’s Dilido Island on the Venetian Causeway and Pine Tree Drive, in the Brickell Financial District at IconBrickell, Villa Regina, and further south in The Roads, Coconut Grove and Grove Isle, just to name a few. Her designs are not reserved for homes either, she has taken on projects in the commercial space as well as new developments.

Britto Charette

Working with the industry’s most talented craftspeople and vendors to offer full-spectrum interior design services, Britto Charette is no stranger to being recognized for their dedication and talent in the ultra-luxury market. In addition to this year’s Architectural Digest list, they are also recognized by Mansion Global, Interior Design Magazine, and Florida Design, to name a few.

Being that Jay Britto and David Charette are multi-lingual, they are able to work seamlessly with the global elite, bringing their visions to life at Regalia, Jade Signature and the Ritz Carlton in Sunny Isles as well as the St. Regis in Bal Harbour. In the Downtown Miami area, their work is showcased at the new Aston Martin Residences, Elysee in Edgewater, and One Thousand Museum developments. They also create designs in single family residences in neighborhoods such as Star Island and Palm Island.

Bunsa Studio

For over ten years now, Jennifer Bunsa has been hard at work creating thoughtfully-designed spaces that are unique, comfortable and soulful. Her passion for this, as evidenced in projects such as homes in The Roads, and the Coral Gables enclave affectionately coined Ponce Davis, have earned her a spot on the list of the top Miami interior designers for Architectural Digest as well as Elle Décor, The Wall Street Journal, Domino, Luxe, among others.

While thoughtful and passionate, the finished product of her designs is equally timeless as it is vibrant. There is nothing stuffy about her style, everything is designed to feel lived-in, offering a true sense of home. She believes that the creation of soulful design comes from attention to detail as well as the incorporation of hand-made materials as well as blending old with the new.

Light on White

Pursuing a balance between luxury and simplicity, Alizee Brion founded Light on White to bring a design aesthetic that embodies nature’s inspiration of harmony, simplicity and raw beauty. The Miami-based firm has heralded projects for private clients at Biscayne Beach in Edgewater, as well as throughout South Beach, Miami Beach and Cocoplum on Mainland Miami.

You should expect to experience a fluidity in Alizee’s designs, as she incorporates vintage and contemporary collectible design pieces and collaborates with architects, vendors and project managers on a global scale. Having opened in 2016, Light On White has been featured in Architectural Digest as well as Elle Decor and Better Homes & Gardens.

Mr. Alex Tate Design

Alex Alonso, the founder of Mr. Alex Tate, is known for his knack for “curating fearlessly” and is a maximalist at heart. His passion is collaborating with clients to create lasting spaces that remain on the edge of design consciousness. In addition to being featured in Architectural Digest, Elle Decor and Chairish Magazines, Mr. Alex Tate is the only of the Miami interior designers to be featured on a Bravo TV contest. They were featured on Bravo’s Best Room Wins, demonstrating their over-the-top personality and talent for design.

Locally, they have undertaken projects in South Beach, Coconut Grove, and Pinecrest, to name a few.

Studio IDC

Gathering inspiration from islands in the Caribbean with cultural influences, locality and client lifestyles, this family-owned design firm is able to curate visually sumptuous yet highly functional spaces. Studio IDC is a second-generation boutique firm that prides itself on being attuned to each client’s specific needs and maintaining close personal communication throughout the design and installation processes.

Studio IDC is also one of the more senior firms on today’s list, having been in business for 25 years. But don’t let this fool you into believing they are no longer cutting-edge. Their airy designs are still as timeless and innovative as those who are fresh out of design school, yet with years of experience to ensure a seamless process.

Many of Studio IDC’s projects are not just inspired by Caribbean beach life, they undertake many homes and hotels in Antigua, Jamaica, St. Lucia, and Haiti. Locally, you can find examples of their casual elegance publicly at the River Oyster Bar, an iconic restaurant in the Brickell Financial District. They have also been commissioned for private residences from Miami Beach to Hollywood.
