“Island Bay” 60-Story Twin Towers Coming to Edgewater Posted on August 23, 2019August 23, 2019 by Michael Light A new waterfront condo project may be on the horizon in the Edgewater neighborhood of Greater Downtown Miami as Melo Group recently filed new plans with the Biscayne Bay Shoreline Development Review Committee to build an immense twin-tower condo project along the bay. The Melo Group is proposing “Island Bay,” a mixed-use development consisting of two, 60-story towers offering 782 residential units and approximately 9,000 square feet of ground-level commercial space. The proposal also states that it will enhance the pedestrian experience in the neighborhood and utilize its bayfront location to enhance public access to Biscayne Bay. Designed by acclaimed Miami-based architects Arquitectonica, the twin towers will boast a zig-zag design pattern vertically along the terraces that will light up at night. The proposed project is located at 700 NE 24th Street, bounded by NE 5th Avenue on the west, NE 23rd Street on the south, Biscayne Bay on the east and NE 24th Street on the north. Island Bay will directly neighbor Elysee, the 57-story luxury condo tower which is currently under construction and slated for a completion in Q3 2020.
