A Second SOHO House…Coming Soon to Miami’s Wynwood Neighborhood Posted on August 9, 2022August 9, 2022 by Michael Light How can you tell your city is cool…when it gets an additional, yes another, Soho House. From Miami Beach to now Wynwood, the “it” spot is ready to expand – aggressively. The London-founded-members-only club plans to end this year with 9 new Houses globally and a total of 85 clubs by 2027. After going public last year the company was seeking to raise $100 million. Its less-than-stellar-performance on Wall Street means they must develop in other areas. So they took their talents back to the City of Miami. Now, if you were to ask Miami Natives ‘Does Miami need another members-only spot?’ Debatable. We are expected to receive our “Miami Pool House,” as it’s being called, this summer. Wynwood is getting baptized by Soho’s boho yet lavish aesthetic on the border of Wynwood and Edgewater. It’s a nice spot on the mainland to kick back and relax, even get some work done on the computer for our work-from-home Miami creatives. Miami Pool House will be available to members and their guests only and will feature a pool, terrace restaurant, club space and cottage bar. Our own Miami Pool House is in the company of many other recent openings, together with, Brighton Beach House in the United Kingdom, Holloway House in Los Angeles and for our country girlies, Soho House in Nashville. South Beach Wine and Food Festival Celebrates its 21st Year Posted on February 27, 2022March 8, 2022 by Sarah Elles Boggs One of Miami’s most elegantly debaucherous events has come of age. The South Beach Wine and Food Festival has bestowed itself upon us for the 21st year, and my has it grown! Whether you want to mingle and rub elbows with celebrity chefs, fellow foodies, mixologists and other wine snobs, or just sip rose and watch celebrities, SBWFF is never a disappointment. This year is no different. The white tents descended upon the sand on Miami Beach this last weekend, from Thursday February 24-Sunday February 27 and left no one in want. There were over 90 events including chef-curated dinners, tastings and food seminars with celebrity chefs. In addition to what was going on in the sand, there were a ton of events running parallel to the official festival. World Red Eye: Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink 15th Anniversary Dinner hosted by Michael Schwartz The event actually began as an event called the Florida Extravaganza in the early aughts. People would bring wines from all over the world and Miami restaurants would bring out their items to pair with the wines. Over the years, it has become an actual extravaganza with the likes of Jose Andres, Guy Fieri, Bobby Flay, and who can forget Paula Deen riding things? This year other celebrities also hosted events, including Eva Longoria, Adam Levine and his wife Behati Prinsloo, French Montana and Kate Hudson. The Coconut Grove Arts Festival is Back and Better Than Ever! Posted on February 20, 2022February 20, 2022 by Sarah Elles Boggs What a weekend for a festival! They call days like these “Chamber of Commerce days” because they are perfect for enticing people to move their families and businesses to Miami, and our city certainly is showing off this weekend. The weather is in the low 70’s, sunny and breezy and the 58th Annual Coconut Grove Arts Festival is THE place to be this weekend if you’re looking for something fun, family friendly and chic all at the same time. Before we get into the photos from the event, tickets to the festival are still available. The 1-day pass can be purchased for just $20, or the family pass for $30 right here, and the festival will continue through the day tomorrow (February 21). Tickets are available at the door, just they are more expensive. Over 300 of the most talented and creative artists from around the globe are being showcased, and the artist of the year is LEBO. He was chosen to design this year’s promotional poster. Ketel One is sponsoring the VIP Collector’s Club with complimentary cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres, private restrooms, an art concierge all in an air conditioned area separate from the masses… If that’s what you’re into.
