Groot, the Miami Hospitality GOAT Expands to Coconut Grove With The Key Club

Oops, he did it again! David Grutman has hit another hospitality ball out of the park, this time in Coconut Grove with his revival of The Key Club. Opening March 11 to great reviews, The Key Club serves an eclectic mix of steaks, freshly caught fish, American fare and sushi set upon a more casual chic decor than is the norm for Groot Hospitality outposts.

Grutman enlisted the NYC-based ICRAVE to design the interiors and guest experience with a warm, woodsy, open air experience that is reminiscent of Brazil. This pays homage to the international attraction of Miami, but also added a midcentury modern feeling and a casual, hippie vibe. They certainly delivered.

Located in Cocowalk directly under Planta Queen (another Groot Hospitality creation), the restaurant focuses on community. Many of the dishes are served to be passed and shared.

Dallas-based Yelp user Baily H declares, “The Key Club is everything and more!! The atmosphere is that of an elevated classic American eatery with a fabulous playlist. The menu has something for everyone! This is easily one of my new favorite spots! Tip: if you get the jumbo prawns you have to order the Parkerhouse rolls to soak up the butter!!!”

Speaking of playlists, the restaurant began its soft-opening on Friday the 11th of March, but only for dinner. Brunch service with live DJ’s begins Saturday, March 19.
