Brickell has once-again been honored. Miami’s “mini-Manhattan” and financial district has been named one of the 49 Coolest Neighborhoods in the World by Timeout.com, a website that dedicates itself to culture, things to do around the world and sights to see. The website sites what many of us locals already know, including the ever-evolving and growing culinary scene, community-building events and the recently-opened Underline Park.

In case you haven’t heard, The Underline Park is Miami’s answer to New York City’s High Line Park. Rather than building a park on an antiquated rail line, Miami added one under a line that is still in commission. The “Brickell Backyard”, as they dubbed the Brickell section of the 10-mile long park, includes amenities for families, dogs, athletes and bicyclists. There is even a butterfly garden, tables for chess or dominoes and a 50-foot communal dining table for events!

If you’re in the mood for some rooftop al fresco dining, Sugar is the place to go. It is Miami’s tallest rooftop bar/restaurant, located over the East Hotel in Brickell City Centre. There are also countless riverfront & bayfront options to choose from if you prefer to dine near the water. One of my personal favorites is El Cielo, on the waterfront side of Brickell on the River’s North Tower at 31 SE 5th Street. El Cielo offers an intense all-immersive dining experience that caters to all of your 5 senses. You relax on the riverfront and enjoy a decadent meal with over 20 moments inspired by Colombian ancestral roots and curated by Chef Juan Manuel Barrientos. El Cielo is a must-see in Brickell.

With a walkability score of 91, Brickell is dubbed a “Walker’s Paradise.” Just like in Manhattan, many locals opt out of cars altogether. With a Whole Foods and three Publix locations within a few blocks, the host of restaurants and offices, there is really no reason to leave the neighborhood unless you just want a change of scenery. In that case, there is always UBER and LYFT to take you where you need to go & bring you back when you are ready without the hassle of parking or valet.

Over the last few years, Brickell has seen a boom in new condo development due to the influx of people moving into the neighborhood. Recently-completed buildings include ECHO Brickell, SLS Lux, Reach & Rise at Brickell City Centre and Brickell Flatiron. Over the next few years, we will see Baccarat Residences rise on the waterfront as well as some other surprises in the works.

Current prices on previously-owned condos in Brickell range from the $200’s for studios up to $25M for the expansive penthouse at Asia on Brickell Key. New construction prices at Baccarat Residences are still in the “friends & family” price zone, so don’t hesitate to reach out, should you want a presentation and the best pricing.
