Versailles-Inspired Palatial Mansion in Hillsboro Beach Heads to Auction

After several years of sitting on the market for sale as one of the highest-priced residential listings in the country, the famed Versailles-inspired palatial mansion in Hillsboro Beach heads to auction with no reserve price.

The over-the-top 60,000-square-foot estate known as ‘Le Palais Royal’ or “Playa Vista Isle” was first listed for sale in 2014 for a whopping $139 Million, but only a year later the price was actually raised to $159 Million before being taken off the market completely in 2016.

After nearly 2 years of being off market, Le Palais Royal is heading to auction to be sold to the highest bidder. The auction will be handled by Concierge Auctions and will commence on November 12th and end on November 15th. Currently, the auction is scheduled with no reserve price, which means that the auction does not require a bidder to bid higher than a minimum price for the transaction to be complete, essentially it means that the home would be sold to the highest bidder.

Designed by Miami-based architect Denio Madera, the beyond lavish mansion was inspired by the Palace of Versailles and other European royal palaces, hence the 22-karate gold leaf speckled throughout, and features 11 bedrooms, 22 bathrooms, a $2 Million marble staircase, a private 18-seat IMAX home theater with a 50-foot-wide screen, a 30-car garage, putting green, multiple pools including a 4,500-square-foot infinity-edge pool, 6 fancy waterfalls and 2 deep water docks. The elaborate home also boasts a highly-sophisticated security system and was insulated with marble floors imported from South Africa to ensure complete soundproofing, specifically to mute the clacking of high heels.
