Paseo de la Riviera, a $172M Luxury Mixed-Use Development May be on the Horizon for Coral Gables

Paseo de la Riviera

A new luxury development may be on the horizon for Coral Gables. Paseo de la Riviera, if approved by the city, will replace the existing Holiday Inn located at 1350 South Dixie Highway in Coral Gables.

Paseo de la Riviera, a proposed $172 Million, 2.66-acre, mixed-use development, would include a hotel, luxury residential tower and an open-air paseo, according to The Real Deal. Paseo de la Riviera plans include a 10-story, 252-unit hotel (brand currently not disclosed), an 8-story luxury tower with 224 apartments and 838 parking spaces. The Mediterranean-style, mixed-use project will also include 4,364 square feet of restaurant space and 14,853 square feet of retail space on the ground floor.

If approved, Paseo de la Riviera will be developed by Brent Reynolds and designed by international firm Gensler and architect Jorge L. Hernandez.

The board will vote on the project on Wednesday. The developer is hopeful to complete the approval process later next month and start construction on the project by June 2016.

I think this is a great project for Coral Gables, especially since it is close to the University of Miami…what are your thoughts???
