About The Brightline

The Brightline is the brand-new, inner-city express train connecting major cities in the Southeastern part of Florida. The Brightline is providing an easier way for people to travel specifically between West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Miami, with a plan in the near future to also connect further north to Orlando. This new mode of transit between these major cities in South Florida will allow a more reliable and quicker commute for those who commute back and forth between these cities, for locals and visitors alike. For instance, many people who work in Brickell, the financial district of Downtown Miami, live in Fort Lauderdale, so the Brightline will give these people a more convenient and comfortable means to travel to and from work. And, for tourists, especially those who come from places where public transit is a way of life, it will be easier and more convenient for these visitors to visit all of the major cities in South Florida all the way up to Disney World.

Currently, 3 of the 4 state-of-the-art Brightline stations are open: MiamiCentral, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. The Brightline began limited services between Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach earlier this year, but has just extended service to Miami with this weekend being the 1st weekend of scheduled services to Miami, beginning May 19th.  The second phase of the Brightline will include a station in Orlando with services estimated to run between Mimi and Orlando in the first quarter of 2021.
