La Gorce Country Club is not a distinct neighborhood in Miami Beach, but because the Country Club is a prominent landmark in the area, many reference the homes surrounding the club as the La Gorce Country Club neighborhood. Specifically, these homes refer to luxury residences situated on Alton Road and La Gorce Drive between Surprise Lake to the south, West 63rd Street to the north, North Bay Road to the west and Pine Tree Drive to the east. Further, the neighborhood surrounding La Gorce Country Club is just south of the exclusive La Gorce Island, which is situated in the sparkling waters of Biscayne Bay.
Originally built in 1927, La Gorce Country Club endured many changes throughout the years, but its latest revitalization came in 2005 when a new clubhouse was born. In the early 2000’s, members came together to create a master plan to build a new clubhouse and restore the golf course and the other amenities to their original glory, and that is just what they did!
Today, the La Gorce Country Club is flourishing, offering an array of luxury amenities including an 18-hole championship golf course, tennis courts, a pool facility, state-of-the-art fitness center, fine and casual dining, private event rooms and a banquet room.
La Gorce Country Club is considered one of the most exclusive country clubs in South Florida, which can largely be attributed to its invitation-only membership.
