¡Órale Pues! Bakan Is Coming To Coconut Grove!

Who likes authentic Mexican food from several different regions? Who likes 500 different tequilas and mezcals to choose from? Who likes al fresco dining (patio time)? If you fall into any one of these categories, read on. If you do not, then I’m sorry for you and you will miss out. BAKAN is coming to Coconut Grove.

The new location is going to be at 2856 Tigertail Avenue and is going to have 4,600 square feet of indoor space and 1,300 square feet of patio space for breezy afternoon dining and cocktails. The small chain has locations in Wynwood as well as Madrid if you would like a preview, and is operated by Jaguar Hospitality Group. They are responsible for local staples including Peacock Garden Cafe, Jaguar and Talavera.

If you have not yet visited the Wynwood location of Bakan, you really should try it out. This restaurant group knows what they’re doing. The environment is lush and tropical, embracing the indoor/outdoor vibe that people come to Miami for. The food is comforting, recipes are sourced from different regions of Mexico, beautifully plated and served with a smile. They have authentic mole!! And did I mention 500 different types of tequila or mezcal?

The vibe is cool too. The large bar accommodates the indoor/outdoor theme, is surrounded by cactus and makes you feel like you are in a chic minimalist spot somewhere in the desert. Oh, and they are also planning to open another outpost in Bal Harbour Shops. The Coconut Grove location is expected to open in the fall of 2022, after interior renovations… so be on the lookout!
