The City of North Miami has unveiled new renderings of the proposed Chinatown Cultural Arts and Innovation District, which show a modern take on Chinese-influenced gateways, bridges over ponds that are inspired by those in traditional Chinese gardens, ‘supertree’ vertical gardens and a pagoda gazebo inspired by China’s Han Dynasty.
The master plan for the new Chinatown is planned to go before the Community Redevelopment Agency’s Advisory Committee in July of this year. The anticipated Chinatown will be located in the 7th Avenue corridor between 119th Street and 135th Street in North Miami.
The latest plans of the new Chinatown include a modified streetscape and 2 gateways to the district on the north and south, which will feature a Chinese design and be a modern take on the traditional Chinese moon gate.
