The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has recently approved proposed plans for a sky-high tower dubbed “Brickell Market Place,” across from Brickell City Centre and directly to the North of the brand-new residential tower Brickell Heights, which will be opening in the next few months.

According to The Next Miami, the FAA approved the plans after 7 long months with a tower rising 954 feet, which is 960 feet above sea level. This would make Brickell Market Place taller than any other building in Miami and would unfortunately make buyers on the north side of Brickell Heights very unhappy.

It is a sad day for Whopper lovers in Brickell. Currently on the site, which is located in the epicenter of Brickell, is a small strip mall that includes Burger King (10 SW 8th Street), a super popular Miami sandwich shop called La Sandwicherie and other retailers. Rumors have been flying for years about what would happen to this strip mall since developers have been building residential condo towers all around it, and now we have a little more insight, even though no concrete details.

Although the tower is currently dubbed Brickell Market Place, rumor has it that this is just a temporary name for the project. We will keep you updated when we receive more information about this project.
