One Of The World’s Top Schools Is Based In Miami’s Coconut Grove Neighborhood

In a world where getting your kid into the right school has become a bloodsport, Miami has upped the ante (as we tend to do). The Spears 500 List of the 100 best schools in the world has been released, and Miami is on the list, with Ransom Everglades right here in Coconut Grove making the cut.

Ransom Everglades’ beautiful campus, located at 3575 Main Highway has a long and storied history. It’s beautiful waterfront campus includes buildings dating back to the beginnings of Miami with the Pagoda. Built in 1902, it was the first structure that began the behemoth that is now Ransom Everglades Academy.

Over the years, the campus has grown to nearly 17 acres right in downtown Coconut Grove and has harvested graduates that have gone on to earn Olympic medals, Oscar awards, novelists, Federal judges and an array of other famous professions.

The school typically garners 90% or more of the 900+ AP exams taken each year that result in a score of 3 or better.

“The school strives to develop students who pride themselves on their academic rigor alongside their morals. Its carefully curated curriculum is reflective of this; students are taught to be independent thinkers, capable of collaborating with others but confident enough to defend their own ideas,” reads the Spears review of the curriculum.

About Ransom Everglades

While the yearly tuition is just shy of $52,000 per year, it is significantly less than some others including Choates Rosemary Hall, which can step upwards of $70,000 per year.

At Ransom Everglades in Miami, students should aspire to pull the average SAT scores of 705 in reading and 703 in math.
