Douglas Elliman Sold $24.6 Billion of Real Estate in 2016

 
Douglas Elliman continues to outshine its competitors in the luxury real estate market by selling a whopping $24.6 Billion worth of real estate in 2016, a 9.8% year-over-year increase, yes increase!

While most of the “top” real estate firms in the country saw a decrease in sales in 2016, Douglas Elliman, the leading luxury real estate firm in the country, dominated 2016 by closing 38,099 sale and rental transactions. Although this number is slightly lower than 2015, Elliman’s average price per deal was higher in 2016, leading to the gain.

As most of you know, Douglas Elliman is the #1 brokerage in Manhattan. As a result of the power of Elliman, 8 of the top 10 biggest residential sales in New York City were closed by Douglas Elliman in 2016!

Listing and selling the country’s most ultra-luxury, uber-expensive properties has allowed Elliman to increase their sales while other “top” real estate firms have taken a big hit. According to Realogy, sales at Sotheby’s International Realty and Corcoran dropped 7% in 2016.
